Looking over your work (such as proofreading) is critical to any style of writing, especially if you wish to educate your readers. When we write, we do so with our audience in mind. Why would we write otherwise if it was not going to be read by anyone? With all these points in mind, double checking your writing is a must if you are to achieve success. Time spent on gathering information about who your target audience is just the beginning to effective writing.

Checking for appropriate language used is at least half of the battle in putting together a well written article. It takes a conscious effort in looking over your work. We need to make sure that all our statements make sense. Writing needs to be accurate and it should flow, otherwise readers will be turned off to what we have to say.

 

HAVING THE CORRECT SPELLING MAKES WRITING READABLE.

Make sure to check for correct spelling, even if you have slight doubt refer to a dictionary for help. Also, double check to see that commas are placed accordingly and where necessary. Keep an eye out for run-on sentences, not forgetting to place periods after complete sentences. This lets the reader know that you have ended your current thought.

 

CAPITALIZATION IS A MUST WHERE REQUIRED.

Make sure to capitalize the first word starting off your sentence

and anything else that needs to be properly capitalized. This mistake regarding capitalization is a very common error, so be mindful of it.

Moreover, pay attention to something said by someone word for word as this should be quoted.
Your goal should be to not only grab your reader’s attention but get them hooked on what you have written about. When you create an everlasting impression of who you are as a writer upon your readership, you will have a dedicated following.
In conclusion, spending a little more time proofreading your work or having it checked by a professional will yield you favorable results.
